Pieve di Sasso di Neviano degli Arduini

Pieve di Santa Maria Assunta di Sasso, an extraordinary example of Romanesque architecture in the Municipality of Neviano degli Arduini, stands on a rocky outcrop dominating the Val Termina di Castione with a breathtaking view, and it is also an excellent place to stop for having a picnic.
A national monument among the best Romanesque buildings in the Parma area, it dates back, according to tradition, to Matilde di Canossa, between the late 11th or early 12th century. With three apses, it shows ancient and modern superfetations in the external texture of the stone walls.
