Val Cordevole

SS road no. 203 Agordina is the main road crossing the Park. Starting from the valley bottom, you will find interesting sites owned by the Forest Service, like the former asylum of Candaten (the local tourist board manages a picnic area in front of it), the station of Salèt, and Agre farmstead (at the entrance of the fascinating Val Pegolèra, the largest and most emblematic valley in Monti del Sole).
From Candaten, crossing the river Cordevole, you can follo Zanardo nature trail. Walking along the right bank of the river, between San Gottardo and Salét, is particularly charming. On the left side of the river there are tributary rivers forming fascinating ravines, gorges, and potholes such as Val di Piero, Val Ru de Molin, Val Vescovà, and Val Clusa.
The most accessible valley (there is a forest road) is Val Vescovà, rich in beautiful woods. This valley is the gateway to Bianchet Mountain Hut situated in loc. Pian dei Gatt (1,245m). From the mountain hut you can go ahead up to Forcella La Varetta and to the southern slopes of the Talvèna, across an area with an extraordinarily rich flora which can be compared only to the flora of Vette Feltrine.
