    IMPORTANT NOTICE
We would like to inform you that on the Selvaggio Verde via ferrata there are some critical points that require particular attention.
In some sections the vegetation may restrict visibility and make it more difficult to use the metal ropes.
The wire ropes may be frayed and pose a potential danger to those clinging to them.
Please remember that the Selvaggio Verde via ferrata is not an easy route, and it is advisable to take the utmost care during the hike.
We recommend that you carefully assess your own abilities and take all necessary precautions to ensure your safety.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

The via ferrata (EEA) Selvaggio Verde is an 11 km route with a difference in height of 417 m that connects In la Piana to Ponte Velina along the Rio Val Grande gorge. It is made up of two separate sections: In la Piana (junction of the path P40)-Orfalecchio and junction of the path P50b-Ponte Velina. These two sections are connected by an equipped path for experienced hikers. Long stretches are unprotected and force hikers to walk on a narrow track, that is always exposed.
Downstream from Orfalecchio, there is an escape route through which you can reach Ruspresso via the paths P50b (Val Foiera-Corte Buè section) and P07b (Corte Buè-Croce di Ompio-Ruspesso section), in about 5 h walking time.
The path between Ponte Casletto and Ponte Velina cannot be accessed by the Law no. 10/2020 of the Municipality of San Bernardino Verbano n° 10/2020
Access to and use of the via ferrata are allowed only in accordance with the PDF Regulation that can be consulted here.

Due to its difficulty, the itinerary is to be walked by paying the utmost caution and, if possible, accompanied by an Alpine Guide. The following equipment is also required:

    • mountaineering helmet,
    • climbing harness,
    • self-protection kit with energy absorber,
    • mountain shoes.

Minors not accompanied by adults are not allowed to access.
