This itinerary runs around Còmero mount where human activities are still many. The mountain rises between Bagno di Romagna and Verghereto. Its the massive mass connects the upper Savio Valley to the lower lands and is the constant landmark in the area. Slopes are covered by woodlands, rich of fresh waters, coloured and scented environments changing any moment, any day and any season. Paths invite to the ascent to a gentle and quiet landscape, in contrast with the pointed and harsh ridges rising in this side of the Appennines where Romagna meets Tuscany.

The trailhead is at "Fattoria Cadi Gianni", right above S. Piero in Bagno. From its wide stables reach the road that, crossing the fields, quickly leads to the junction with Provincial Road SP 43. Follow the Provicial Road for some hundred metres and take the deviation on the right leading to Lake Pontini, then turn left and follow the mule-track that climbs up to Valbonella, a tourist resort with a paddock.

From the balcony on the hill dominating the upper Savio Valley, follow the dirt road crossing the garden of scents and leads across area where some activities (hunting, fishing, etc,) require permits. After about 700 m meet a fork, take the dirt road on the left - signpost b/r of the "Val di Bagno Trek" network - passing by an intake of the communal aqueduct and head toward Acquapartita: at a white road the lake faces you.
Continue on the right following the private white road towards "Lago di S. Francesco" (St Franciss Lake) and after about 2 km across pine and beech woods cross a gate on the left and continue towards "Cippo dellAlpino" (Alpinos cippus). This area is an enchanted place with drink water and tables, half way up to Pian delle Corsicchie declining towards Alfero. There the view on most of Romagna is wonderful.
After a rest, go back for about 100 m and turn right following a white road leading to the hamlet called Il Pozzo. Turn right again always following the same road, across grazing lands and beech woods, to reach the Mountain Pass between Monte Testaccio and Monte Comero. Many roads part from a wide open space: go straight forward and turn left at the first gate reaching Spinello; turn left again to find the b/r signposts showing the way to S. Catale which is a group of houses surrounded by century-old chestnuts. A dirt road starts there leading to Lago dei Pontini.
Reach the junction with the Communal road leading to Provincial Road SP 43 and turn left, then take a trail on the right passing by the house called Bramalpane and descend towards Banditina farm. Ca di Gianni is reached after one kilometre.
