New interactive route for children and parents

Active since Sunday 25th May 2003 in the Park Center Bertone in Goito (Mantova)

“Hi, my name is Lataste and I can't stand roasted frogs”… This is the beginning of the new comic-strip story which will welcome the children visiting the Park Center Bertone in Goito. Lataste is a rare and endemic amphibian of the Po Plain (and of Istria), object of a reintroduction project which has been recently launched by the Park and by the Region of Lombardia with the collaboration of the university of Pavia.
For this reason, the Italian Agile Frog has become the protagonist of the new didactic-entertaining and interactive route inaugurated in the Bertone on Sunday morning at 11.00 a.m. The route will lead children (but also their parents) in a world of imagination, but will also lead them to know many aspects of the natural world.
It is made by 14 stations on the whole, situated along the path leading from the entrance gate to the left side of the garden. They have been realized thanks to the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Verona, Vicenza, Belluno e Ancona.
The wooden signs are represented by panels, animal templates camouflaging with the environment, comic-strips, two interactive panels with canopies aimed at arousing curiosity and stimulating the capacity of observation, the game, the movement with physical activity. Everything also actively involving adults (“Jump with me up to the next message”…).
“Boscobambino - sulla via di Lataste” is therefore not only an "equipped area for children", but a place "becoming child".
You will only have to pay the entrance ticket to the Bertone (free for less than 6-year old children); the Park Center is open on holy days from 10.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
A new publication describing the route will be handed in to those going along it (two versions: one for children and one for parents). It also tells the habits of the Italian Agile Frog and the tale of the romantic park-garden of the Bertone.
